Germany Withdraws Objection — How the Loan Is to be Divided.
PEKING, March 3.— Germany has withdrawn her objection to the appointment of a British adviser to the administration of the salt tax, and the six-power loan, it is now expected, will go through without any further hitch.
The United States and Japan have waived their claims to the appointment of their nationals among the four foreign advisers whom China is obliged to nominate under the agreement.
It is stated that the loan of $125,000,000 is to be issued approximately as follows; Great Britain, $40,000,000; France, $35,000,000; Germany, $50,000,000; the United States, $12,500,000, and Belgium, $7,500,000, the last-named sum being a portion of Russia's share. The balance of the Russian allotment and the Japanese allotment are included in the British and French totals.
