A Strange Airship Seen In England.

Perhaps One of the German Dirigibles — Question to be Asked in Parliament.
HAS CAUSED SOME ALARM
It Is Believed That a Flight from Germany to England and Back Is Now Quite Possible.
Special Cable to The New York Times.
LONDON, Nov. 16.— Has a German Zeppelin airship been manoeuvring over England? This is the question which is arousing interest, bordering on alarm, here.
A dirigible appeared above Sheerness on the night of Oct. 14 and was plainly observed by the officers of the Royal Corps stationed there, who, thinking it a British airship trying to land, lit large flares as a guide; but the aerial visitor gradually disappeared, and nothing more was heard of it. Inquiries in English aviation circles failed to elicit a satisfactory solution of the mystery, and so the Secretary for War will be asked definitely on Monday if it was a Zeppelin airship. If it was it is suggested that such a Visit without previous notice might be regarded as a hostile act, but as the airship did not use searchlights it is agreed that the mission was not one of espionage.
In view of the remarkable flights recently of German airships and the assertion that they were able to make a voyage to London and back without stopping, it is conceded as quite possible that the visitor was a Zeppelin.
