New York Times 100 years ago today, November 2, 1912:
Sofia Hears They Are Driving the Turks Without Cessation.
Special Cable to The New York Times.
Dispatch to The London Daily Mail.
SOFIA, Nov. 1.— Demotika has been captured by the Bulgarians.
On the other flank, to the east the Bulgarian Army harasses and pursues the Turk's without cessation, bursting through every attempt at resistance.
The bombardment of Adrianople continues, and the garrison is already disheartened. The Bulgarians made an offer to the commandant to let the whole civilian population pass out. The commandant replied that he would agree if the garrison also were allowed free passage.
This suggestion was rejected by the Bulgarians.
