Montenegro Won't Agree.

New York Times 100 years ago today, April 16, 1913:
Refuses Cash Compensation for Scutari — Serb-Bulgar Dispute.
CETTINJE, April 13.— The Government has notified its representatives abroad that Montenegro rejects pecuniary compensation for Scutari and will yield only to overwhelming force.

LONDON, Wednesday, April 16.— The Bulgarian Government, according to a Sofia dispatch to The Morning Post, has notified the other Governments of the Balkan league that the terms of the latest note of the great powers are acceptable to Bulgaria, and asks the allies to assent promptly to the conclusion of peace. It is probable, adds the dispatch, that an armistice will be arranged this week.
A Vienna dispatch to The Daily Chronicle says that the relations between Servia and Bulgaria are becoming increasingly strained. Servia claims Egri Palanka, Krateva, Veles, Uskub, and Okhrida, in total disregard of the treaty concluded before the war, under which most of these towns, being Bulgarian, would go to Bulgaria. The disputed territory comprises 25,000 square miles.
