Rebels' Request to Federals Holding City Is Refused.
TAMPICO, Mexico, Oct. 21.— The revolutionists to-day demanded the surrender of the City of Tampico, but the Federal forces refused to comply. The rebels numbered under 300 men.
It is reported that the country between Tampico and Ozoluama. fifty miles to the southward in the State of Vera Cruz, is in the possession of revolutionists commanded by Manuel Bravo, an ex-army engineer. The garrison here, commanded by Col. Gonzales, consists of 300 men.
In equipping a. portion of his men Bravo is supposed to have used 80 rifles and 5,000 cartridges stolen from the stores of the Pearson syndicate.
