Diaz's Nephew A Rebel.

New York Times 100 years ago today, October 13, 1912:
Vera Cruz Hears He Has Risen Against Madero, Who Ousted Uncle.
MEXICO CITY, Oct. 12.— Gen. Felix Diaz has joined the rebellion against Madero, who forced his uncle, Porfirio Diaz, from the Presidency, is the news sent from the State of Vera Cruz to-day. President Madero is reluctant to believe the report, but there appears little doubt of its accuracy.
The exact whereabouts of Gen. Diaz are not known, and the capital is guessing at his plans, but a large part of the people are not surprised at the step he is said to have taken. Diaz is supposed to be in the State of Vera Cruz, near the southeastern boundary of Puebla, where he is expected to join the forces of Gen. Aguilar, who was last reported at a ranch near Tehuacan, in Puebla. The latter is said to be depending largely on the Indians of Oaxaca, and others, who for some time have been in rebellion, fighting under leaders working more or less independently.
