Curtiss Aeroboat For Army.

New York Times 100 years ago today, October 13, 1912:
Hydro-aeroplane School to Have Combination of Airship and Motor Boat.
    WASHINGTON, Oct. 12.— The War Department has ordered one of the new Curtiss aeroboats for the use of the hydro-aeroplane school here.
    The new machine is a combination of an aeroplane and a speedy motor boat. The bottom planes of the machine rest directly across the gunwales of the hydros. It is said to be capable of developing a speed of fifty miles an hour on water and sixty miles an hour in the air.
