Allies Take Scutari Hill.

New York Times 100 years ago today, February 9, 1913:
General Attack Begun on the Northwestern Fortress of the Turks.
PODGORITZA, Feb. 8.— A general attack by the combined Montenegrin and Servian armies was begun on the Turkish fortress of Scutari at 10 o'clock this morning.
King Nicholas of Montenegro is personally directing the operations of his own troops from the army headquarters at Gruyemir near the Turkish lines.
The allied Montenegrin and Servian artillery did effective work, silencing a Turkish battery on Muselim Hill. The Montenegrin infantry followed up the bombardment by storming the hill at the point of the bayonet, driving the Turks out of their works and capturing the position.
A sortie by the Turkish troops to the south of Scutari was repulsed.
Two Ottoman steamers were sunk on Lake Scutari.
