Petition Dominates the Main Fortress from the East — Hard Fighting on Western Side.
PODGORITZA, Montenegro, Feb. 10.— The Montenegrin Army besieging the Turkish fortress of Scutari carried the great Bardanjoli Hill by assault at 10:30 this morning, after some hours of severe fighting. The infantrymen on several occasions came to such close quarters that hand-to-hand fighting was general along the line.
Bardanjoli Hill dominates Scutari from the eastern side, and the Montenegrins are mounting siege guns on the heights to bombard the principal points of the city.
Fighting has gone on around the city since early morning, the Turkish defenders disputing the ground against the besiegers with fierce determination and courage.
