To Attack Adrianople First.

New York Times 100 years ago today, February 1, 1913:
Sofia Believes Preparations Are Being Made for an Assault.
SOFIA, Jan. 31.— It is believed that the Bulgarian and Servian troops besieging the fortress of Adrianople purpose to try to take the place by storm, regardless of the sacrifice of life such an attack would involve on them.
The Bulgarian Army Headquarters to-day announced that neither foreign attachés nor correspondents would be allowed to follow the coming operations. This is taken as an indication that such an attack is contemplated.
Adrianople is still supplied with plenty of provisions and ammunition, according to some Christian soldiers who have just deserted from the Turkish garrison.
