Canal Open from Miraflores for Light Vessels Aug. 25.
PANAMA, Aug. 13.— The destruction of the last dike in the Pacific section of the Panama Canal between the Miraflores locks and the ocean will take place about Aug. 25.
The event will lack somewhat the spectacular features attending the dynamiting of the dike in the same locality some time ago, but will mark an important step toward the completion of the canal by establishing uninterrupted water communication for vessels of light draft between Miraflores and the Pacific.
