$50,000,000 to be Lent — The Six-Power Group Indignant.
Special Cable to The New York Times.
LONDON, Tuesday, Sept. 10.— The Peking correspondent of The Times telegraphs:
"Much interest and surprise have been caused in financial circles here by the information that a loan of £10,000,000 ($50,000,000) is being arranged in London through the agency of the Chinese Minister. It is stated that a preliminary agreement has already been signed and that the negotiations are nearing completion.
"The six-power group, with which negotiations were broken off, expressed indignation. The Government replied to its request for an explanation by saying that the present negotiations were initiated by the former Minister of Finance and had been carried on by him independently.
"The London negotiations, it is stated, are being conducted with an important bank representing a syndicate including parties identified with one component of the six-power group."
