May Boycott Panama Fair.

New York Times 100 years ago today, September 12, 1912:
Germany Not Likely to Exhibit If Our Tariff Policy Is Continued.
Special Cable to The New York Times.
BERLIN, Sept. 11.— Germany's decision in regard to the question of participation in the Panama-Pacific exposition at San Francisco in 1915 will be withheld, The New York Times correspondent learns, until after the Presidential election.
If Wilson wins Germany will certainly participate. If Taft or Roosevelt should be elected the Fatherland's participation will remain in doubt until the Republican or the Progressive Administration has given a reliable indication of its tariff policy.
If the "standpat" rĂ©gime is perpetuated, the German Government, as it is at present minded, will boycott the exposition.
