French 3-Year Army Term.

New York Times 100 years ago today, March 5, 1913:
Measure Unanimously Decided Upon by the Supreme War Council.
    PARIS, March 4.— The Supreme War Council, presided over by President Poincaré, to-day pronounced unanimously for three years' military service without exemptions as the only means of assuring national defense.
    This decision was reached after a long and exhaustive examination of the military situation.
