New York Times 100 years ago today, March 8, 1913:
MONTEREY, Mexico, March 7.— Gen. Geronimo Trevino, Provisional Governor of the State of Nuevo Leon, received a telegram to-day from Gov. Carranza of Coahuila inviting him to join in the revolution against the new Administration. Gen. Trevino expressed indignation. He refused to reply to the message. He asserted he never would be disloyal to the legal Government of Mexico.
This is believed to put an end to the rumors that Gen. Trevino, was inclined to join in the revolt because of the killing of President Madero, who was his kinsman by marriage.
