Garibaldi To Aid Castro?

New York Times 100 years ago today, August 2, 1913:
Panama Police Suspect Madero's ex-General of Recruiting for Him.
Special Cable to The New York Times.
    PANAMA, Aug. 1.— Giuseppe Garibaldi, who was a rebel General under Madero, and a canal detective here are thought to be preparing to join Castro in Venezuela. They are also credited with recruiting American soldiers of fortune for the new revolution.
    The police are watching them, but are reticent as to their discoveries.
