Madrid Hails Alfonso's Return.

New York Times 100 years ago today, May 12, 1913:
MADRID, May 11.— The Spanish people, proud of King Alfonso's personal popularity in France, greeted the sovereign on his return this morning from Paris with unusual enthusiasm. Women strewed flowers in the King's path between the station and the palace. All the Government and diplomatic dignitaries gathered at the station, and the Queen and the Queen Mother were there also to witness the King's safe return.
