Naval Secrets Stolen.

New York Times 100 years ago today, May 3, 1913:
Details of Important French Invention Published Abroad.
TOULON, May 2.— There is consternation in naval circles here over the publication in a foreign review of the full technical details of an invention to which the greatest importance attaches. A prominent naval officer had been engaged in secretly perfecting the invention here during the last few months.
It is said that the leaking out of the secret details, coincides with the stay of a foreign officer in Toulon. The Maritime Prefect has ordered a strict inquiry into the affair.
