Peru Prepares for Canal Opening.

New York Times 100 years ago today, May 11, 1913:
    LIMA, May 10.— Steps to facilitate Peruvian commerce through the Panama Canal were taken by the Peruvian Government to-day when it issued a decree fixing at half of 1 per cent. of their value the monthly storage charge for goods warehoused in the Customs Houses at the seaports of Payta, Callao, and Mollendo.
