Simultaneous Uprising In Colombia Plotted by Conservatives.
GUAYAQUIL, May 12.— Extensive plans for a new revolution in Ecuador, arranged to begin yesterday, were discovered by the Government in time to frustrate the movement, which was to take place simultaneously with a revolt in Colombia.
Arrangements for the rising had been made in Quito, Guayaquil, Riobamba and Tulcan by a number of prominent Conservatives in conjunction with friends of the late President, Gen. Alfaro, who was lynched by a mob in Quito on Jan. 28, 1912.
It had also been decided by several Colombian Conservatives to overthrow to-day the President of that Republic. Carlos E. Restrepo, owing to their disagreeing with his liberal policy.
