Prince of Wales Runs Down a Submarine, but Without Fatalities.
Special Cable to The New York Times.
LONDON, Tuesday, June .30.— A naval disaster was narrowly averted off Portsmouth yesterday, when the battleship Prince of Wales ran down and seriously damaged the submarine C32 during a mimic attack of submarines on two battleships.
The C32, although her conning tower was badly damaged and a considerable part of the superstructure carried away, was able to rise to the surface and return to Portsmouth without assistance.
