King Peter To Abdicate.

New York Times 100 years ago today, May 20, 1913:
His Health Shattered, Owing to the War — Will Return to Geneva.
By Marconi Transatlantic Wireless Telegraph to The New York Times.
GENEVA, May 19.— It is stated on authority that King Peter of Servia intends to abdicate owing to bad health as soon as peace with Turkey is signed.
An emissary of the King to-day arrived in Geneva, where the King, as Prince Karageorgevitch, spent many years in educating his sons, in order to find a suitable residence for his Majesty.
The King was in Geneva when King Alexander and Queen Draga were murdered. He has many friends here.
King Peter's health is believed to have broken down largely as a result of the exertions and anxieties of the war. The King will be 69 years old on June 29.
