Japan Coy Toward Mexico.

New York Times 100 years ago today, July 25, 1913:
Fears Being Anti-American Stalking Horse for Huerta.
    TOKIO, July 25.— The disinterestedness of the sudden outburst of Mexican friendship is doubted here and the opinion is expressed by prominent Japanese that Japan must be careful not to allow herself to be used as an instrument for the fostering of anti-American feeling in Mexico.
    The press is beginning to display bitterness and impatience over the sterility of the California negotiations.
