Roosevelt Split In Georgia.

New York Times 100 years ago today, July 18, 1912:
Rival Organization Issues Call to Choose Chicago Delegates.
Special to The New York Times.
ATLANTA, Ga., July 17.— The Roosevelt party in Georgia, while still in swaddling clothes, is split. There are two rival organisations, and each has issued a call for a convention to select delegates to the Chicago Convention to be held on Aug. 5.
The negro has caused the split in Georgia. Roger Dewar, who has one faction, has called a convention, regardless of color. St. Julien Yates, who heads the Roosevelt "White League" of Georgia, has called a convention in which it is openly announced that white men will rule.
