Huerta Visits Ambassador.

New York Times 100 years ago today, March 18, 1913:
Tells Wilson He Is Eager to Remain Friendly with America.
MEXICO CITY, March 17.— Provisional President Victoriano Huerta, disregarding all precedents, called on Henry Lane Wilson, American Ambassador to Mexico, today. This is the first time, it is said, a Mexican President has visited the diplomatic representative of a foreign power. Technically, he left Mexican territory. The Chief Executive was accompanied by Francisco de la Barra, Mexican Minister of Foreign Affairs.
President Huerta told Ambassador Wilson he had ratified the understanding between the American Ambassador and Minister de la Barra that all questions pending between the United States and Mexico be adjudicated without loss of time. He referred especially to the claims of Americans arising from the Mexican revolutions and also to the Chamizal boundary and other disputes.
Gen. Huerta reiterated it was his desire to continue the friendly relations of the two Governments. He expressed gratitude for the efforts made by the American Ambassador to bring about peace during the recent disturbances in the capital.
