Denies Egging Servia On.

New York Times 100 years ago today, December 2, 1912:
Russian Minister in Belgrade Says His Government Wants Peace.
By Marconi Transatlantic Wireless Telegraph to The New York Times.
LONDON, Monday, Dec. 2.— The Belgrade correspondent of The Daily Telegraph has interviewed M. Hartwig, Russian Minister to Servia, with reference to the report that he urged Servia to adopt extreme courses and the assertions that Russia was playing a double game. He declared nothing could be further from the truth, adding:
"Russia throughout has been perfectly frank and sincere in her attitude. So far from urging Servia to extremes, we have always counseled moderation. Our great desire is to see the peace of Europe maintained."
