Nobel Committee for First Time Can't Find Any One to Whom to Give It.
CHRISTIANIA, Dec. 9.— The Nobel Peace Prize will not be awarded this year.
This is the first time since the establishment of the Nobel Foundation, the first award of which was made in 1901, that the committee of the Norwegian Parliament has found no person worthy of this award. The committee, in explanation of its action, merely states that it has decided that there has been "no work deserving of the prize."
It has been recommended that the prize, approximating $40,000, shall be retained for the benefit of the Foundation fund.
