A French Wireless Girdle.

New York Times 100 years ago today, November 8, 1912:
Government Decides on Plan to Connect Paris with the Colonies.
PARIS, Nov. 7.— The French Government has decided to establish a series of wireless stations, connecting Paris with the various French colonies, and. with North and South America.
The project, as laid before the Chamber of Deputies, contemplates the expenditure of $4,000,000, about a third of it in 1913. The point of connection in North America has not yet been specified, but the South American-Pacific girdle includes stations in Morocco, St. Louis, (Senegal,) Martinique, the Marquesas Islands, Tahiti, Noumea, (Capital of New Caledonia,) and thence to Saigon, Indo-China.
