Castro Rebellion Crushed In Cumana.

Government Also Has Puerto Cabello Uprising Under Control.
ASPHALT TRUST AFFECTED
Vice President of the New York and Bermudez Company Goes to the Disturbed District.

    CARACAS, Aug. 16.— The uprising headed by Gen. Asuncion Rodriguez, a Castro partisan, in Cumana, in the neighborhood of the famous Bermudez asphalt lake, is reported to have been completely crushed by Gen. Sarmiento's Government forces.
    Other reported local uprisings near Puerto Cabello and the invasion of Apure by Gen. Valentin Perez are entirely under the control of the Government.
    Gen. Gomez with his main army is still at Maracay.
    The Des Moines is expected to remain at La Guayra till Sunday, and then to go to Puerto Cabello and Cumana.
    Vice President Sewell and Manager Proctor of the New York and Bermudez Asphalt Company went to Maracaibo to-day to inspect their properties in the disturbed district.
    A shipment of ammunition intended for the revolutionists is reported to have been confiscated by the British authorities at Barbados.
