Chinese Loans Are Halted.

New York Times 100 years ago today, October 27, 1912:
Crisp Syndicate Refuses to Aid Owing to Balkan War.
    CHICAGO, Oct. 26.— The Daily News to-day received a cable dispatch from its correspondent at Peking, saying:
    "The Government cabled to the Chinese Minister at London instructing him to ask the Crisp syndicate to issue another loan of $25,000,000. This the syndicate refused, owing to the uncertainty in the London money market caused by the Balkan war."
