Crete May Join The Revolt.

New York Times 100 years ago today, October 26, 1912:
Greece Appoints a Governor General in Defiance of the Powers.
LONDON, Oct. 25.— Reports are current here of serious trouble in Crete. The Greek Government has announced the appointment of ex-Premier Stephen Dragoumis as Governor General of the island, which is in defiance of the arrangement of the European powers. He is said to have arrived in Crete to begin work.
Censored telegrams, received from Crete, refer to a naval demonstration by warships of the powers which is said to have been ineffective, and the warships have since withdrawn.
