Hit Taft With A Pea.

New York Times 100 years ago today, October 27, 1912:
Police Are Looking for a Boy Who Endangered the President's Eye.
Special to The New York Times.
CORRY, Penn., Oct. 26.— Some youngster used a peashooter on President Taft as he emerged from his private car this morning to address a gathering at the Corry station. The pea seemed to strike the President under the eye, as he brushed his hand as though to avert the sting of an insect.
The police are doing their utmost to find the boy. They say his offense was serious, as he might have injured the President's eye.
