Loeb Is Non-Committal.

New York Times 100 years ago today, July 27, 1912:
Has Been in Wilds of Colorado and Didn't Hear Bull Moose Call.
Special to The new York Times.
    DENVER, Col., July 26.— "I do not care to discuss the political situation at present," said William Loeb, Jr., when making a dash from one train to another at the Union Depot this morning. Mr. Loeb made this statement in reply to the question, "Are you going to support Mr. Roosevelt in the Presidential campaign?"
    When asked for his opinion on the probability of Mr. Roosevelt being elected President, he said;
    "I have been up in the mountains enjoying a vacation, and have not been occupying my mind with such subjects, but have just relaxed and had a good time."
    When asked if he would attend the Progressive Republican Convention at Chicago he said he was going back to New York to work. He has been spending a three weeks' vacation at Windermere Lodge, Buford, Col. His train was late this morning, and the Chicago Special on the Union Pacific was held fifteen minutes for him.
