Roosevelt Elector Resigns.

New York Times 100 years ago today, July 21, 1912:
John Y. Chisholm of Illinois Silent on His Action.
SPRINGFIELD, Ill., July 20.— John Y. Chisholm of Bloomington tendered today to Secretary of State Doyle his resignation as a Republican Elector, but gave no reason for his action. Chisholm is one of the Roosevelt leaders in his district.
As the resignation was not sworn to Secretary Doyle notified Mr. Chisholm it could not be accepted until this fault was corrected.
