Texas Electors Stand Pat.

New York Times 100 years ago today, July 20, 1912:
Col. Lyon Says They Will Vote for Roosevelt — No Third Party.
HOUSTON, Texas, July 10.— Col. Cecil A. Lyon said to-day:
"If there is to be a third party organized in Texas, the men who placed themselves beyond the pale of the Republican organization will have to form it. The supporters of President Taft are the men I refer to.
"I am at the head of the Republican organization in Texas and I intend to stay there. Col. Roosevelt is the Republican nominee for President, and our Texas Electors are already named and instructed for him."
