Consul Asks For Warship.

New York Times 100 years ago today, January 15, 1913:
Fears for Americans at Acapulco, Which Rebels Threaten.
MEXICO CITY, Jan. 14.— Alarmed by the approach of rebel forces and apprehensive of the fate of Americans in the event of occupation, Clement S. Edwards, the American Consul at Acapulco, State of Guerrero, has suggested the presence of an American warship there.
In a report to Ambassador Wilson, Consul Edwards says that Acapulco is threatened by Julio Radillo with 500 men, the Government troops are insufficient and the military commander admits his inability to reinforce the garrison. He estimates that 200 refugees are on their way to Acapulco. They report depredations and atrocities in the coast region to the north.
