Rumania Is More Pacific.

New York Times 100 years ago today, January 13, 1913:
Negotiations Are Resumed with the Bulgar Envoy in London.
By Marconi Transatlantic Wireless Telegraph to The New York Times.
LONDON, Monday. Jan. 13.— Negotiations between Rumania and Bulgaria have been resumed, and, according to The Times, an early settlement is expected. Dr. Daneff and M. Jonescu, who is acting here in behalf of Rumania, visited the Servian delegates yesterday.
The Times says there is reason to think that Bulgaria will make any territorial compensation, which she may give to Rumania, a charge on the allies in general, and under the circumstances the Servians are expected not to press their claim to Monastir.
In addition to these territorial questions, it is understood that there was some discussion yesterday of the support which Rumania would be prepared to give the allies, and even of an eventual alliance between Rumania and Bulgaria.
With reference to the report that Rumania was about to make an armed occupation of the territory which she claims, M. Jonescu issued a statement, in which he said:
"Never at any time has the Rumanian Government intimated, either to the Bulgarian Government or the Minister at Bucharest, a possibility of military occupation. Neither has there ever been any talk of an ultimatum."
