Depositors Feared War.

New York Times 100 years ago today, February 1, 1913:
Over $15,000,000 November Withdrawals from German Savings Banks.
By Marconi Transatlantic Wireless Telegraph to The New York Times.
BERLIN, Jan. 31.— Official statistics show Withdrawals from German savings banks, as a result of the war panic of November, even larger than the withdrawals during the Morocco crisis in 1911.
The total withdrawals for November are estimated at from $15,000,000 to $17,500,000, as compared with about $8,750,000 during the Morocco panic. Of thirty-seven of the largest savings banks, all but eight paid out more in November than they received.
