Progressives Start In Kings.

3,500 Men Together Cheer New Organization—Prepare for Campaign.
    The National Progressive Party for Kings County was organized in Prospect Hall, Prospect Avenue, near Fifth Avenue, Brooklyn, last night. The hall was packed to the doors by 3,500 cheering men, many of whom had been old-line Republicans and not a few with previous Democratic affiliations. Timothy L. Woodruff presided. Controller Prendergast, one of the speakers, had to bow many times to numerous suggestions connecting his name with the next Governorship of New York.
    All of the twenty-three Assembly districts in Kings County were represented, and during the evening each district was authorized to send not less than five nor more than twenty delegates to a meeting to be held on the 15th of this month in the Johnston Building in Nevins Street, when a permanent committee to manage the Progressive campaign in Kings County will be named.
