Motor Liners Building.

New York Times 100 years ago today, July 13, 1912:
Many Under Construction in Germany, Some for Hamburg Line.
By Marconi Transatlantic Wireless Telegraph to The New York Times
BERLIN, July 12.— According to a
writer in the Frankfurter Zeitung, a considerable number of motor ships are now being constructed in German yards. It will be remembered that the Hamburg-American Line recently purchased the Danish motor ship Fionia, now renamed Christian X.
It is said that Messrs. Blohm & Voss of Hamburg are building a motor ship for the Woermann Line and another for the Hamburg-American Line, that the Weser Shipbuilding Company is building and has already launched a similar craft for the Hamburg-American Line, that the Reiherstieg yards at Hamburg are building a ship for the German-American Petroleum Company, that the Gemania yards at Kil are building three others for the same company, that the Howaldt yards at Kiel are building two ships, one of which is to be delivered next month, for the Hamburg and South American Steamship Company, and that the Tecklenburg yards at Geestemunde are building a ship for the Hansa lane.
