Mexico Rejects This Claim.

New York Times 100 years ago today, September 14, 1912:
Ernesto Madero Wires The Times About the McIntosh Case.
By Telegraph to the Editor of The New York Times.
MEXICO CITY, Mexico. Sept. 18.— With reference to your message of the 6th inst., addressed to President Madero, asking Mexico's attitude toward the Manning-McIntosh claim, I desire to inform you that said claim is completely null and void, and was rejected since the year 1886 by the committee appointed in accordance with the law of May 12, 1888.
My understanding is that Mr. Enrique McIntosh sold his claim lately for a small amount to the Mexican Securities and Construction Company of New York, and this company. In turn, has presented a claim many hundred times greater than its cost, but entirely extemporaneous and completely void.
        ERNESTO MADERO.
        Secretary of the Treasury.
