Heads Fleet for Efficiency, Colorado Second, Maryland Third.
WASHINGTON, Aug. 15.— The Delaware stands at the head of the twenty-one battleships in efficiency for the year 1911-1912. Her final merit figures, as computed at the Navy Department, gives her a rating of 74.758 per cent. The Colorado is second, with 68.301, and the Maryland third, with 65.952. Battle efficiency is computed from the ship's record at target practice and general fighting condition.
In the torpedoboat destroyer class the Preston heads a list of twenty-three vessels, scoring 81.980. The Monaghan is a close second, with 80.074, and the McCall third, with 79.361.
