Gen. Gouraud's Army In Fierce Four-Hour Battle.
FEZ, Aug. 16.— A severe fight took place yesterday at Mouley Bouchta between the French troops under Gen. Gouraud and the Moorish followers of the Pretender of Sichtala, in which the French lost eight killed and forty wounded.
Three thousand Moors were engaged, and their ranks were cut up by several bayonet charges, gallantly carried out by the French troops, who, after a four hours' battle, routed the Moors with great loss.
The Pretender of Sichtala, who has proved more troublesome to the French than any other chief in Morocco, succeeded in escaping the encircling French battalions.
Gen. Liaytey, the Resident Governor, has decided temporarily to abandon Marakesh, one of the three capitals of Morocco, until sufficient troops have arrived to hold it. All the European residents of Marakesh have left for the coast.
