Special Cable to The New York Times.
PARIS, Aug. 11.— The trials for the $5,000 Michelin prize for bomb dropping from an aeroplane at a height of 2,400 feet ended at the Chalons Camp to-day in an American victory, subject to confirmation by the French Aero Club.
The winners were Gaubert, in a Wright aeroplane, and his marksman, Lieut Scott of the United States Army. Scott dropped the bombs three at a time. The first three fell outside the target, which was a rectangular space 170 by 40 feet. Subsequently his marksmanship improved, and he dropped eight projectiles within the target.
